After growing concerns regarding RSE in Tower Hamlets. THPA alongside a coalition of organisations came together to seek a Legal Opinion on LBTH’s Policy.
The Coalition sought the Legal Opinion from a Queen’s Counsel (Silk), and in the below document you can see what the key points of the Legal Opinion stated.
In addition to this The Coalition have held two meetings (22/12/20 & 26/01/21) thus far with Mayor John Biggs, Cllr Danny Hassel (now replaced by Cllr Asma Begum) and Kate Smith to discuss how LBTH can be reasonable in their recommendation to schools.
We are due for another meeting to hopefully finalise a reasonable position and possibly amend LBTH’s previous position.
